Huawei Honors Top Eight in ‘Seeds for the Future 2025, Bangladesh’

Huawei has announced the names of the eight winners of its flagship ICT competition, Seeds for the Future 2025, Bangladesh, following three months of intensive screening, training, and evaluation. The winners were honored with crests and certificates at a recent ceremony held at Huawei’s South Asia headquarters in Dhaka.

The selected winners are: Sayed Atif Raihan from American International University–Bangladesh, Farisa Zainah Zaman from North South University, Nafim Karim Khan from BRAC University, Md. Rezwan Ullah from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Tasnia Iffat from the University of Dhaka, Md. Safius Sifat from Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET), and Nufsat Faruq and Wasif Uddin from the Islamic University of Technology.

According to a press release issued on Saturday, July 9, the winners will soon travel to China to participate in further training and global competitions. Huawei Bangladesh said that around 3,000 students applied for the program this year. From these, 60 candidates were invited to a bootcamp, where they received hands-on training in key areas such as business development, cloud computing, digital power, 5G, and artificial intelligence.

After the initial phase, candidates were evaluated through written exams, presentations, and teamwork exercises to assess their knowledge, skills, and analytical abilities. Huawei’s own experts, along with invited instructors, then provided in-depth training to a group of 21 shortlisted candidates. These participants were tasked with designing business solutions that could deliver large-scale socio-economic impact using information and communication technologies.

A panel of invited academics, UNESCO representatives, alumni of the Seeds for the Future program, and Huawei experts evaluated group presentations and selected the final eight winners.

The event commenced with an inaugural speech by Lin Hai, Vice President of Huawei South Asia and Director of the Board. Dr. Susan Vize, Head and Representative of the UNESCO Bangladesh Office, attended as the chief guest.

Speaking about the initiative, Lin Hai said, “Through Seeds for the Future in Bangladesh, Huawei continues to take talented youth to new heights every year. This initiative is a true reflection of Huawei’s goal ‘In Bangladesh, For Bangladesh,’ demonstrating our strong commitment to building a robust ICT ecosystem through skill development. This competition represents a long-term investment in our youth, and we believe the knowledge and experience gained will play a vital role in the country’s digital advancement.”

Dr. Susan Vize remarked, “As a strategic partner of Huawei’s Seeds for the Future program, we are delighted to support this initiative. It plays a transformative role in equipping the youth of Bangladesh with essential knowledge and skills for the future. The talent, enthusiasm, and dedication shown by the winners clearly indicate that they have the potential to lead the country forward. I believe these brilliant young minds will be the architects of a prosperous Bangladesh.”
