Slim Strategy: Samsung Showcases Galaxy S25 Edge to Outpace Apple
In a strategic move to stay ahead of Apple, Samsung Electronics has unveiled its slimmest flagship smartphone to date—the Galaxy S25 Edge. The new device was showcased at an event in Seoul on May 13, featuring a 6.7-inch screen and measuring just 5.8 millimeters in thickness. The model integrates advanced artificial intelligence features, according to a report by Reuters.
Targeting portability preferences among consumers in their 20s and 30s, Samsung said it has streamlined internal components in the new design without compromising performance.
Analysts view this as a calculated step by Samsung to capture market momentum before Apple releases its own ultra-thin iPhone later this year.
The Galaxy S25 Edge will go on sale in South Korea starting May 23 and in the United States on May 30, with a global rollout across nearly 30 countries to follow. Prices will start at $1,099.
