Salesforce Cuts Jobs as AI Adoption Accelerates
Cloud software services provider Salesforce has laid off fewer than 1,000 employees earlier this month, Business Insider reported. According to a Reuters report, the information was disclosed citing a source familiar with the matter.
The report said the eliminated roles include positions in marketing, product management, data analytics, and functions related to the Agentforce AI product. The details were based on posts shared on LinkedIn and conversations with two employees.
However, Reuters said it could not independently verify the report, and Salesforce did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Large-scale layoffs have been observed across various U.S. companies since the beginning of this year, with the rapid adoption of artificial intelligence–based technologies emerging as a major contributing factor.
Earlier, Salesforce Chief Executive Officer Marc Benioff had said that the use of AI had led to a significant reduction in roles within the company’s customer support division.
