Organisers Plan Bigger Seventh Edition After Successful Digital Device Expo
Sixth DDI Expo Concludes with Participation of Over 50,000 Visitors
Following four days of vibrant activities, the organisers of the sixth Digital Device and Innovation Expo have announced plans to host an even larger seventh edition in the future. According to the convening organisation, the Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS), the organising committee is satisfied with both sales performance and visitor turnout. Participants have also expressed strong interest in taking part more actively in similar events going forward. By the final day of the fair on Saturday, January 31, more than 50,000 visitors had entered the venue through registration.
The four-day expo featured more than 50 stalls and around a dozen pavilions. Starlink provided internet services at the venue, while an e-sports tournament was also held as part of the programme. Several participating businesses reported that sales during this edition exceeded expectations. They believe that such technology-focused expos serve as an effective platform for both buyers and sellers, and many expressed optimism about participating in even larger events in the coming years.
Muhammad Monirul Islam, Secretary General of the Bangladesh Computer Samity and Convener of the Digital Device and Innovation Expo 2026, said, “The biggest achievement for us is seeing smiles on everyone’s faces at the ICT Division regarding the expo. That, in itself, is our success.”
He added that Chief Adviser’s Special Assistant Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb, ICT Secretary Shish Haider Chowdhury, Managing Director of Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority Md Mamunur Rashid Bhuiyan, and ICT Division Joint Secretary Saiful Hasan visited the expo and expressed satisfaction with the overall arrangements.
Regarding visitor turnout, Monirul Islam said that nearly 300,000 visitors attended the exhibition over the four days. While the initial expectation was to attract three lakh visitors, he noted that although the target was not fully achieved, the final figure came very close to expectations.
Sakib Arafat, Managing Director of participating company TechTimes, said they received more than anticipated. “After six years, such a fair was organised again. We will request the organisers to hold this kind of expo twice a year, as it would increase customer engagement,” he said.
Abdullah Al Mamun, Business Head of Honor Bangladesh Limited, said the response was very encouraging. “High-end phones sold well, and low-priced phones were sold out within the first two days,” he noted.
Litton Biswas, one of the directors of DX Group, said his company recorded the highest sales value among participating firms. “We are very happy. We want more fairs like this in the future,” he said.
Pratap Saha, Channel Development Manager for Lenovo laptops, said the response was positive. “Since a fair was held after a long time, visitor turnout was satisfactory. Alongside sales, branding worked very well. We received many queries and saw strong interest in our products,” he added.
Mohammad Khorshed Alam, Channel Consultant (Commercial Business) for Acer laptops, said Acer received a strong response at the expo. “Our branding created a good impact, and we received many orders for laptops,” he said.
