Poised Policing: Viral Video of Officer Earns Widespread Praise

A video of a police officer performing his duties has recently gone viral on social media, drawing widespread appreciation from netizens. Many have shared the video, commending the officer’s approach and remarking that this is the kind of police force the general public desires. Some have cited the footage as evidence that the police are indeed meant to serve the people.
Interim Government Adviser for Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, Asif Nazrul, also joined in the praise. Sharing the video on Valentine’s Day, he wrote, “Lots of love for this police brother.”
However, details regarding the identity of the officer in the viral video remain unknown.
In the footage, the police officer is seen working to disperse demonstrators from a roadway. He carries a baton, wears a helmet, and dons a bulletproof vest. Without physically engaging with the protesters, he skillfully uses verbal warnings and loud sounds from his baton striking the ground to scatter them.
As the video spread across social media, many users commended his approach.
Asif Nazrul’s shared video had received nearly 1,500 comments by 7:00 PM on Friday (February 14). It had been shared over 700 times and viewed more than 500,000 times.
Sharing the video, Rafsanul Islam Ratul wrote, “Well done, officer.” Himel Chakma, who originally posted the video on Facebook, captioned it, “This police officer has demonstrated how to disperse a rally without using a baton or physical force.”
Abu Yusuf commented, “Such actions should be rewarded so that other officers can be encouraged and inspired to perform their duties in the same way.”
Md. Mamun wrote, “We want to see more humane police officers in our new Bangladesh.” Noor-e-Jahan, another commenter, stated, “He should be rewarded, sir. Recognizing such good work will encourage others to change their mindset.”
Fazlur Rahman remarked, “He gives the impression that he might strike but doesn’t—this is exactly how the police should operate.” Another user, Saiful Islam, wrote, “I demand that he be recognized as a model for the police community and be awarded a national honor.”
