Human chain demanding inclusion of IT products as emergency services
The Computer City Center Shop Owners Association has demanded the inclusion of IT products as emergency service products along with other emergency service products during the deteriorating Corona pandemic situations.
The members of the association held a human chain in front of the market on Sunday morning to realize their demands.
The core message conveyed from the human chain was that, at present, IT products have become vital in every household. As a result, IT products should be treated as emergency service products.
Engineer Subrata Sarkar, general secretary of the Computer City Center Shop Owners Association, said IT products are playing the biggest role in keeping the wheel of development moving. Therefore, in order to keep all state services running, the IT sector must be brought under emergency services.
We do all the meetings, transactions, offices online whenever there is an urgent need. During lockdown periods, we do all our tasks through technology. In order to keep the IT products accessible and available to keep all the state services running, the IT sector must be brought under emergency services, says Subrata Sarkar.
He added that a letter has been sent to the Ministry of Commerce, ICT Department and Ministry of Public Administration demanding that IT products be considered as emergency services products.
Computer City Center Shop Owners Association President Tawfiq Ehesan and others were also present in the human chain.
