Listed lender Islami Bank Bangladesh has announced the rebranding of its mobile financial service, mCash, bringing renewed attention to the platform and the benefits it offers customers. Bank officials said the revamped mCash integrates modern technology with contemporary banking to make everyday transactions safer, faster, and more convenient.

Under the service, mCash-to-mCash send money is free of charge, while cash-out transactions incur a fee of Tk 13.90 per thousand. Users can also pay electricity, gas, and water bills, as well as refill the Metro Rail Rapid Pass through mCash. In addition, various government allowances—including old-age allowance, disability allowance, education stipends, and widow allowances—can be received via the platform. Many institutions are also disbursing employee salaries directly through mCash.

Customers can withdraw cash from any Islami Bank branch, sub-branch, or ATM at a reduced fee of Tk 7 per thousand. Remittances sent from abroad can be credited directly to mCash accounts instantly, with the same cash-out charge of Tk 7 per thousand. Moreover, users can add money from any Visa or Mastercard at a cost of just Tk 5 per thousand.

mCash services are available 24/7 across the country through mCash agent points, all Islami Bank branches and sub-branches, agent banking outlets, and the bank’s own ATMs and CRM booths.

The rebranding initiative was formally inaugurated on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka by Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Ahsan H Mansur. The event was presided over by Islami Bank Chairman Professor Dr M Zubaidur Rahman, with Bangladesh Bank Executive Director Arif Hossain Khan attending as a special guest. Islami Bank Managing Director Mohammad Omar Faruk Khan delivered the welcome address.

Also present were Executive Committee Chairman Mohammad Khurshid Wahab, Audit Committee Chairman Md Abdus Salam, FCA, FCS, Risk Management Committee Chairman Professor Dr M Masud Rahman, and Independent Director Md Abdul Jalil, alongside senior officials from Bangladesh Bank and Islami Bank’s head office, zonal heads, and branch managers.

In his keynote speech, Governor Dr Ahsan H Mansur said Islami Bank has a strong customer base of over 30 million clients and a vast network of 400 branches, 271 sub-branches, and nearly 2,800 agent outlets. He emphasized leveraging this network to expand mCash, particularly for remittance inflows, and highlighted the platform’s role in building a cashless society.

He noted that strengthening mCash would require long-term planning, customer trust, incentives, and cashback offers, with a focus on the retail and SME sectors through QR-code-based transactions. Increased digital transactions, he said, could reduce corruption, boost revenue by up to Tk 2 trillion, and enhance economic transparency. Stressing the need for a diversified mobile financial services market, he wished success to mCash’s renewed journey.

Chairman Professor Dr M Zubaidur Rahman expressed confidence that mCash, backed by Islami Bank’s 30 million customers, would surpass competitors and urged all to embrace mCash transactions.
