ASUS DSL Routers Exposed: Critical CERT-In Cybersecurity Caveat
India’s national cybersecurity agency CERTIN has identified a severe security vulnerability in several Wi-Fi routers of the ASUS DSL series under the Computech brand. According to the cybersecurity monitoring group, the flaw—tracked as CVE-2025-59367—puts many households, small offices, and service providers using these routers at significant risk.
In its Vulnerability Note CIVN-2025-0322, CERT-In stated that attackers can remotely access the routers without any user interaction. This vulnerability affects ASUS DSL models AC-16, AC-51, and AC-750. Since hackers can easily enter the router’s admin panel, they can manipulate internet settings, monitor traffic, steal personal data, and even take control of devices connected to the router.
CERT-In classified the flaw as “extremely critical,” warning that it poses serious risk to households, small offices, IT admins, SOC teams, SMB organizations, and network service providers. ASUS DSL routers are primarily modem-router combos used on DSL lines, so if compromised, the entire network becomes vulnerable.
ASUS has already released a patch for CVE-2025-59367. Cybersecurity experts recommend that users install the security update immediately from ASUS’s official website. Alongside urgent firmware updates, users are also advised to change the router’s default password, disable remote management if not required, review security settings, and keep an eye on router logs for suspicious activities.
