A coordination meeting with students from 25 universities in Dhaka was held at the BASIS Auditorium in Kawran Bazar, bringing together academic representatives and student leaders for an extensive exchange of ideas. The event, organised on Saturday, 15 November, by the Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) and the BASIS Students’ Forum, was attended by university conveners, co-conveners, and executive members.

The meeting was presided over by BASIS Administrator Abul Khayer Mohammad Hafizullah Khan. Also present were relevant members of the supporting committee and representatives from the BASIS Secretariat.

Since its inception, the BASIS Students’ Forum has been actively promoting technology-driven innovation and practice across universities in Bangladesh. With the aim of strengthening student engagement in technology, developing leadership, and building stronger collaboration between academia and the tech industry, the meeting brought together the various university committees based in Dhaka.

Key discussions focused on reviewing activities from the past year, enhancing inter-university coordination, planning for the upcoming year, and aligning student initiatives with BASIS’s priority programmes. The event also featured an open discussion segment and a networking session.

In his presidential remarks, BASIS Administrator Abul Khayer Mohammad Hafizullah Khan stated, “Our young generation is the real driving force behind the technology sector of tomorrow. If university students engage in hands-on learning, understand industry demands, and build relevant skills, Bangladesh’s ICT sector will gain greater momentum. Those providing leadership to the Students’ Forum are the frontline force of this transformation. BASIS will always stand beside them.”

BASIS expressed confidence that the programme would help reinforce inter-university coordination within the Students’ Forum, inspire its executive members with renewed motivation, and support the adoption of a clear activity plan for 2026.
