JUST Munshi Meherullah Hall Gets Internet & International Common Room
Residential students of Munshi Meherullah Hall at Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) have received internet connectivity in the reading room. At the same time, a new common room for foreign students has been opened in the hall, which accommodates 1,100 students.
These two new facilities were introduced on Monday, November 17, during the “Inauguration Ceremony and Hall Feast-2025,” where prizes were awarded to students who excelled in maintaining cleanliness in the hall environment and their own rooms. Improved quality meals were also served at the event. The ceremony began at 7 pm, inaugurated by JUST Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Majid. Around 820 residential students of Munshi Meherullah Hall participated enthusiastically.
During the event, the Vice Chancellor discussed the long-standing demands and necessities of the residential students. He assured them that their logical demands would be fulfilled and advised them to remain patient, focus on their studies, and help maintain a healthy living environment in the hall.
He then inspected the hall’s entire dining room, upgraded dining facilities, the new common room for international students, the reading room equipped with internet access, and other rooms, accompanied by the hall provost, proctor, directors of various departments, assistant provosts, teachers, officers, and staff members. During the inspection, he instructed the hall administration to take necessary steps to further modernize, streamline, and enhance the residential facilities for both domestic and foreign students staying in Munshi Meherullah Hall.
The inauguration and Hall Feast-2025 program was presided over by Hall Provost Dr. Md. Abdur Rouf Sarkar. Special guest Professor Dr. Hossain Al Mamun, Treasurer of JUST, delivered his remarks. Others who spoke included University Proctor Professor Dr. Md. Omar Faruk and Director of the Office of Student Counselling and Guidance Dr. Md. Rafiqul Hasan.
Directors of Planning, Development and Maintenance, the ICT Cell, all Assistant Provosts of Munshi Meherullah Hall, along with teachers, officers, staff members, and all residential students of the hall were present at the event. The program was anchored by Assistant Provost B.M. Khaled of Munshi Meherullah Hall.
