Microsoft Moves to Magnify UAE’s AI Infrastructure and Invest $15.2 Billion

Microsoft has announced plans to invest a total of USD 15.2 billion in expanding artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure across the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by 2029. Simultaneously, the Trump administration in the United States has granted approval for the export of Nvidia’s advanced AI chips for use in the UAE’s data centers, according to a Reuters report.

Microsoft Vice Chairman Brad Smith stated that the majority of the investment will be allocated to expanding AI data centers, which will help meet the UAE’s rapidly growing technological needs.

The company has already invested USD 1.5 billion in Abu Dhabi–based AI firm G42. While Washington previously expressed concerns over G42’s links with China, Smith clarified that “the company now complies with U.S. standards.”

According to the report, under the U.S.-approved export license, Microsoft has already procured 21,500 Nvidia AI chips for the UAE and is set to receive more advanced GB300 GPUs in the coming months.
