Bangladeshi tech giant Walton has developed a new tablet named EduTab in a joint initiative with education-technology platform Shikho. Through this tablet, students will be able to access modern learning facilities and study with some of the country’s top teachers from anywhere in Bangladesh.

Sources said the Walton-made digital device is designed to make learning strategies simpler and more effective. The EduTab functions like a standard Android tablet with full access to the app store. Directly integrated with the Shikho platform, the tablet has been developed keeping in mind the real needs of students and teachers in Bangladesh.

Running on Android 16, the tablet is powered by a Helio G99 octa-core processor. It features an 8.68-inch IPS display with a resolution of 800 by 1340 pixels. With 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, users can easily store necessary apps and educational content. The device is equipped with a 6,000mAh lithium-ion battery, ensuring long-lasting power backup. Internet browsing is smooth with support for 4G networks and high-speed Wi-Fi. For connectivity, the tablet includes a USB 2.0 (Type-C) port. To support online classes, the EduTab comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera.

Walton Computer Products Chief Business Officer (CBO) Touhidur Rahman Rad said the EduTab is truly a supportive device for learners of all ages, including children. He noted that live classes, guided practice, animated lessons and AI-powered smart support have been integrated into a single device. The tablet has been specially developed after years of observing the specific academic pressures, usage patterns and limitations faced by students following Bangladesh’s national curriculum.
