CVASU Conference Connects Six Nations for Scientific Synergy

Around 500 researchers from six countries, including Bangladesh, are set to participate in the 17th International Scientific Conference 2025, hosted by the Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) from October 26 to 28. Over 160 research papers will be presented during the three-day event.

The announcement was made by CVASU Vice-Chancellor Professor Mohammad Lutfor Rahman at a press briefing held on Thursday, October 23, at the university’s administrative building.

The conference will be inaugurated on October 26 at 3:00 pm at the CVASU Auditorium by Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar, Education Adviser to the Government. Sylhet Agricultural University Vice-Chancellor Professor Md. Alimul Islam and State University of Bangladesh Vice-Chancellor Professor Md. Akhtar Hossain Khan will attend as special guests.

This year’s theme centers on advancing global health and food systems:
“Transdisciplinary Integration of Terrestrial and Aquatic Ecosystems for Advancing Health, Food Security and Nutrition.”

Vice-Chancellor Professor Rahman said the conference, jointly organized by CVASU’s One Health Institute, the Poultry Research and Training Centre, and funded by the Fleming Fund, will host researchers from Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Vietnam, Thailand, and the United Kingdom.

“We are giving top priority to research, innovation, and international collaboration,” he said. “The 160 research papers to be presented this year will open new horizons in livestock, blue economy, food processing, pet health, One Health systems, and genetic research.”

He further noted, “Since 2003, CVASU has been organizing international scientific conferences regularly. This year’s event will serve as a unique platform for research, cooperation, and global engagement.”

The three-day scientific gathering will feature discussions across seven sub-themes, with distinguished scientists from the UK, India, Assam, Bangladesh, and Vietnam presenting keynote papers.

A research and technology exhibition will also be held at the university premises throughout the conference. Stalls will be set up by 20 CVASU departments, the One Health Institute, the Veterinary Hospital, the Poultry Research Centre, and several pharmaceutical and feed companies.

The closing ceremony is scheduled for October 28 afternoon, where Farida Akhter, Adviser to the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, will attend as the chief guest.
