Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) has officially launched its new “Student Online Clearance” system starting today. Through this system, students can access their personal portals to view any outstanding dues, complaints, or fines filed against them. They will also be able to settle dues and resolve complaints digitally, thereby completing the clearance process online.

As per CUET authorities, any student will be eligible to apply for final clearance through the system within 48 hours after their graduation results are published, subject to the resolution of all outstanding issues. The university believes this initiative will significantly reduce the hassle students previously faced during manual clearance procedures.

The “Student Online Clearance” system was inaugurated on June 30 (Monday) by CUET Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mahmood Abdul Matin Bhuiyan. During the launch, he thanked all contributors involved in developing and implementing the system and sought everyone's cooperation to ensure its effective operation.

Later in the afternoon, CUET also hosted a seminar titled “Digital Economy: Looking Back, Looking Ahead and Looking for Digital Transformation through Emerging Technologies” at the Academic Council room in the presence of the Vice-Chancellor. The keynote speaker was Professor Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam, former Vice-Chancellor of CUET, USTC, and RUET, and a faculty member of CUET’s Civil Engineering Department. The session was presided over by Professor Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman Bhuiyan, Director of CUET’s Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), and moderated by Additional Director Professor Dr. Md. Sanaul Rabbi.

Previously, CUET students were subjected to a cumbersome manual clearance process, requiring up to 200 signatures. Delays were frequent due to the unavailability of signatories. Under the new system, students only need to visit their respective department, hall, and central library in person. All other necessary approvals will be gathered through the software developed by CUET’s IICT. Relevant offices can now digitally enter dues, complaints, or fines into the system to facilitate smoother clearance.
