Smart Foundation Honors Martyrs’ Families: A Tribute to July Revolution Heroes
In a solemn tribute to the martyrs of the July Revolution, six families from Ramganj were honored with recognition and a cash gift of BDT 50,000 each. The initiative was organized by the Dhaka-based Ramganj Upazila Students’ Welfare Council, with the overall support of Smart Foundation.
The awards were presented on Saturday at the Zia Auditorium in Ramganj Upazila, Lakshmipur district, by Mohammad Zahirul Islam, Secretary General of Smart Foundation. Addressing the martyr families, he stated, "We can never repay the debt owed to those who sacrificed their lives in the July Revolution. However, from today onwards, the responsibility of Ramganj’s martyr families is upon all of us. We, the people of Ramganj, are your own, and we will always stand by you in any need, InshaAllah."
The special event, themed "Youth Inspired by Revolution and Crisis," also recognized volunteer organizations that played a crucial role during the devastating floods of 2024. These organizations were awarded crests, while individual volunteers received certificates as a mark of appreciation.
Additionally, a talent hunt competition was conducted across various educational institutions in Ramganj Upazila, inviting over 500 students as distinguished guests at the event. Out of them, 20 outstanding students were awarded scholarships by Smart Foundation.
