New Political Party in the Making: Platforms Seek Public Input on Name and Symbol

The Baisamya Birodhi Chhatra Andolon (Anti-Discrimination Student Movement) and Jatiya Nagorik Committee (National Citizens’ Committee) have announced their plan to form a new political party. They have already initiated the groundwork for this purpose. As part of their efforts, the two platforms have sought public suggestions for the party’s name and electoral symbol.
Additionally, they have released a Google form, inviting citizens to share their thoughts, expectations, and advice regarding the new party.
On Wednesday (February 5), the announcement was made on their verified Facebook page, stating that a new political party, led by students and young people, is in the process of formation. The post also included a link to the Google form. Sarjis Alam, the chief organizer of the Jatiya Nagorik Committee, shared the same information in a Facebook post.
The form requires applicants to provide their full name, gender, occupation, district, and phone number. It also asks respondents to suggest three key initiatives that could transform the country, mention personal issues they hope the new party will address, and state their expectations from the party. Furthermore, the form seeks public input on the party’s potential name and electoral symbol.
The announcement post stated, “A new political party led by students and young people is coming! We want to know what kind of party you envision, and we aim to build it accordingly. Share your opinions in the form provided in the comments. It will take only five minutes to fill out.”
Meanwhile, the Google form released by the Baisamya Birodhi Chhatra Andolon contains the following message: “Your vision for a new Bangladesh! Your opinions are the key to transforming the future of Bangladesh! A new political party is in the planning stages, carrying the aspirations of the July Revolution and founded on the principles of democracy, justice, and equality.
