MLT Foundation wishes to reduce unemployment by e-sports freelancing

At present, there are about 77 lakh unemployed youth in Bangladesh. The MLT Foundation wants to establish them by making them freelancers through e-sports. For this, from the middle of 2024, they will organize programs in schools, colleges, madrasas and universities in every nook and corner of Bangladesh. Anika Mridha, COO of the organization assured to play their role in the development of Bangladesh by giving them financial support and recognition.

He said that e-sports is an electronic sports medium, where like other sports, professional players can participate in a game on a virtual platform and compete. It can also cover sports in a variety of electronic sports, such as e-sports training, competitions, and spectacular events.

"In the last four years, there have been a total of 38 e-sports-centric events in Bangladesh both domestically and internationally. In addition, thanks to social media; Bangladeshi streaming platforms have improved during COVID-19. The annual income of the 40 named streamers was (estimated) Tk 12 crore," he added. Administrative, institutional, and financial institutions' perceptions of esports are fragile. Nevertheless, the way e-sports is progressing in Bangladesh, statistics show that it is possible to expand further in Bangladesh easily, which can help Bangladesh to progress in the future. E-sports can be very popular in the number of gamers and leisure time. More gamers can compete on local and international platforms. E-sports expert tournaments and events can be promoted, which is possible through sports administration and moral support in Bangladesh.

The announcement was made at a press conference on the future of MLT and e-sports in Bangladesh at Nasrul Hamid Auditorium of Dhaka Reporters Unity in the capital on Friday morning.

President of the organizing body Ajay Debnath, General Secretary Abir Bin Safi, Vice President ATM Mushfiq Mahmud, Treasurer Md. Saddam Hossain Anik and Executive Member Syed Ehraj Ali were also present on the occasion.

It also said that the situation of e-sports in Bangladesh has improved since 2019. However, it is still in its early stages. Among modern competitions, mobile gaming and cricket have been replaced by e-sports, which are more prevalent in line with each other. Bangladeshi teams participate in various e-sports tournaments and leagues. Currently, there are 25 other industries directly and indirectly involved in the e-sports industry, which is likely to grow further in the future. Currently, e-sports are under the purview of government ministries and federations in 18 countries.

Highlighting the country in the world, eliminating unemployment, music, electronics, foreign investment, earning foreign exchange e-sports organizations and teams can get a lot of progress, which can help create new opportunities towards career creation for Bangladeshi players.
