BSIA Road Show 2025 Showcases Bangladesh as a "Silicon River"
Bangladesh is set to present itself as a “Silicon River” in the global semiconductor landscape through the “BSIA Road Show 2025,” scheduled to be held in Penang, Malaysia, from November 11 to 13. The Bangladesh Semiconductor Industry Association (BSIA) will highlight the country’s emerging semiconductor ecosystem before Malaysia’s advanced semiconductor industry stakeholders and global technology leaders. The event aims to position Bangladesh as a design, innovation, and talent partner within the global semiconductor value chain.
The Deputy Chief Minister of Penang, YB En. Jagdeep Singh Deo, and Bangladesh High Commissioner to Malaysia, Manjurul Karim Khan Chowdhury, will attend the roadshow as special guests. Senior representatives from organizations including MIDA, MSIA, Invest Penang, Deloitte, YBS, Rapid Manufacturing, MMS, Aemulus Corporation, TF-AMD, Inari, Infinecs, SkyeChip, Universalink, Oppstar, Symmid, Enovix, and USM (CEDEC) are expected to be present.
Following the success of the National Semiconductor Symposium 2025, held during the BEAR Summit, this roadshow represents the next step in strengthening Bangladesh’s presence in the international semiconductor arena.
The BSIA delegation will include leading semiconductor design and testing companies from Bangladesh. Among them are ULAKSEMI, an indigenous semiconductor design and manufacturing company; Neural Semiconductor, specializing in analog, RF, and photonics design; Prime Silicon (Siliconova Limited), offering advanced digital implementation and foundry-ready solutions; Prime Silicon in its role supporting AI-driven design automation and OSAT collaboration; iTest Bangladesh, focused on semiconductor testing and reliability assessment; and Cactus Materials, a pioneer in SiC power devices and III-V photonics innovation. These companies collectively represent Bangladesh’s growing capabilities and innovation potential in the semiconductor sector.
Organizers stated that global leaders such as ASE, Infineon, and Silterra continue to operate and invest in Malaysia. As one of Asia’s most mature semiconductor packaging and testing hubs, Malaysia has been chosen as the first destination for this international engagement. Bangladesh aims to present its three strategic strengths: design talent, cost competitiveness, and innovation readiness, while also learning from Malaysia’s successful semiconductor journey.
Speaking about the initiative, BSIA President Md. A. Jabbar said, “The Silicon River initiative is not just about semiconductors— it is about establishing Bangladesh as a confident partner in global innovation. Through this roadshow, we hope to connect Bangladesh’s design capabilities with Malaysia’s manufacturing expertise to open a new chapter of regional cooperation.”
The roadshow is expected to facilitate business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-government (B2G) collaboration for joint design and OSAT projects; initiate a Bangladesh–Malaysia semiconductor cooperation track; and support the development of training and IP-sharing frameworks. Participants also expressed optimism about formulating roadmaps for bilateral Centers of Excellence and industry-integrated training programs.
Professor Dr. Mohammad Mustafa Hussain of Purdue University remarked, “BSIA Roadshow 2025 marks a milestone in Bangladesh’s semiconductor journey. It strengthens the Silicon River vision by connecting academia, industry, and the global diaspora.”
Dr. Shatil Haque of Credo Semiconductor, one of the advisors and coordinators of the roadshow, noted, “Where vision meets opportunity and talent meets technology, a new era begins. Bangladesh is entering that era with the rise of Silicon River.”
