US Delegation Discuss Digital Development and Trade Ties with Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb

On Monday, September 15, a United States trade delegation met with Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser in charge of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology, at his Secretariat office.
During the meeting, Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb highlighted the ongoing development initiatives in Bangladesh’s information technology sector and underscored the potential for investment.
The U.S. delegation praised Bangladesh’s progress in digital transformation and expressed optimism about strengthening future cooperation.
The Special Assistant emphasized the importance of international partnerships in building Bangladesh into a hub for technology and innovation.
Both sides discussed a wide range of issues, including bilateral trade and investment relations, enhanced cooperation in information technology and telecommunications, data governance, electronic ID authentication, digital public infrastructure, cloud services, interoperability, the digital service ecosystem, personal data protection laws, and opportunities within the digital economy.
The U.S. trade delegation included Brenda Lynch, Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for South and Central Asia, and Emily Asbee, Director for South Asia.
