Dhaka Drives: Auto Fest Revs Up After Rain Delay

Following a brief disruption due to rain, the bustling Dhaka Auto Fest has regained momentum at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Kuril, Dhaka. Running alongside the expo is the country's largest and most established international automotive exhibition, Auto Series of Exhibitions Bangladesh 2025, which spans three days.
The event showcases a wide range of new and old models of cars, motorcycles, scooters, bicycles, light electric vehicles, auto components, and the latest in automobile technology. Covering a total exhibition space of 134,000 square feet across four venues at ICCB, the series features five concurrent expos: the 18th Dhaka Motor Show 2025, 9th Dhaka Bike Show 2025, 8th Dhaka Auto Parts Show 2025, 7th Dhaka Commercial Automotive Show 2025, and 2nd Electric Vehicle (EV) Bangladesh Expo 2025.
According to organizers SEMS-Global, more than 175 companies from 17 countries—including Japan, India, China, Malaysia, and South Korea—are participating, with over 600 booths collectively. “It’s five shows under one roof,” said a SEMS-Global representative. The festive weekend atmosphere has drawn sizable crowds, making it a family-friendly outing.
Product categories are strategically segmented across ICCB’s halls: commercial vehicles are displayed in Gulshefa Hall, two-wheelers in Pushpaguccha, and four-wheelers in Rajdarshan and Navaratri Halls. Visitors can also explore auto parts, aftermarket accessories, lubricants, helmets, Bluetooth gear, and even massage chairs at every venue. Among the international brands, Chinese electric vehicle manufacturers appeared most prominently.
Speaking with exhibitors, it became evident that accessories—particularly lubricants—were selling better than vehicles themselves.
On-site observation revealed enthusiastic participation from families. Children and women were seen taking selfies with displayed cars, while long queues formed at ticket counters in front of each hall. Young men gravitated more toward motorbikes, while women showed notable interest in EVs and scooters. Attractive discount offers, quizzes, and lotteries are available across the halls, with several brands encouraging visitors to install their apps via barcode or QR code scans as part of their promotional campaigns.
Organizers noted that the Dhaka Motor Show, part of the Auto Series of Exhibitions, has been held successfully in Bangladesh since 2006. It remains the country's largest and only international platform for automobiles, bikes, and related technology. “This is a one-stop platform for showcasing the latest vehicles, parts, accessories, and automotive innovations where buyers, visitors, and entrepreneurs get the opportunity to explore the most recent technologies,” said a spokesperson.
Brands like Mitsubishi, Honda, MG, Proton, Changan, Suzuki, GAC Motors, Dongfeng, and Deepal are unveiling their newest car models at the exhibition. Among two-wheeler brands, Bajaj, Speedoz, Dongjin Group, and Salida EV are on display.
