Prime Bank Publishes Braille Banking Books to Promote Financial Literacy
As part of its ongoing financial literacy initiative, Prime Bank PLC has published Braille books on Consumer and SME Banking, marking the first such effort by any bank in Bangladesh. These Braille books will be distributed free of charge to all public libraries and specialized schools across the country for use by visually impaired individuals.
The bank also announced that an audio version of the books, accompanied by sign language videos, will soon be available on Prime Bank’s official YouTube channel (@primebankofficial), ensuring wider accessibility.
In a recent event held at Bangladesh Bank, Prime Bank’s Chief Executive Officer Hasan O. Rashid officially handed over two Braille books on Consumer and SME Banking to Deputy Governor Dr. Md. Habibur Rahman.
The event was also attended by Bangladesh Bank’s Executive Director Rup Ratan Pyne, Additional Director Abeda Rahim, Joint Director Golam Sarwar, Deputy Director Md. Shamim Al Mamun, Assistant Director Mohammad Yusuf Ali, as well as Prime Bank’s Deputy Managing Director M. Nazim A. Chowdhury, Head of Liability Shaila Abedin, and other senior officials.
Speaking on the occasion, Prime Bank CEO Hasan O. Rashid said, “Prime Bank firmly believes that financial services should be accessible to all segments of society, with special attention given to individuals with physical disabilities. Through this initiative, we aim to empower visually impaired and differently-abled individuals by providing them with essential tools to access banking services.”
