Space Exploration Bootcamp Sparks Interest Among Youngsters

An event focused on space exploration was held at an IT institute in Dhaka's Dhanmondi to inspire the younger generation in the fields of science and technology. The Data Boot Camp, part of the Space Exploration Olympiad, offered participants the chance to learn firsthand about robotics, moon lander technology, and the development process of the James Webb Telescope, along with other fascinating topics related to the universe.

The workshop saw the participation of over a hundred young space enthusiasts from various age groups in person, with an additional group of more than a hundred students joining online. The participants were engaged by 15 instructors from various universities, who shared knowledge about a range of topics related to space. The event was marked by a sense of curiosity and eagerness to learn among the attendees.

Parents of the participants expressed that the event not only enhanced their children's technical skills but also gave them confidence in becoming future researchers and innovators.

The camp was attended by key figures including Mohammad Zaman, Head of the Space Exploration Olympiad’s USA Chapter, Ariful Hasan Apu, President of the Space Innovation Camp, as well as representatives from the Guardian Group and other distinguished individuals.

Ariful Hasan Apu, founder of the Bangladesh Innovation Forum, shared that the event aimed to raise awareness and enthusiasm among the youth about the universe and modern technologies associated with space. Participants learned how robots operate thousands of miles away, how lunar landers safely land on the moon, and the role of the James Webb Telescope in uncovering the universe's unknown secrets.

Organizers are hopeful that initiatives like the Space Exploration Olympiad will play a crucial role in boosting the interest of young people in science and space research in the future.
