Although Quamrul Islam Siddique was an engineer, he was an efficient administrator, a hardworking and uncompromising public officer who was able to overcome the obstacles of bureaucracy. He took far-reaching steps in developing the rural infrastructure of today's development. Had he lived there would have been no rush to join the cadre of engineers and get respectable benefits. His courageous leadership is still lacking. To fill this gap, it is proposed to establish Quamrul Islam Siddique Rural Infrastructure Development Research Center soon.

The proposal was made at a remembrance meeting organized by the Engineers Foundation on the occasion of the 15th death anniversary of Engineer Quamrul Islam Siddique on Monday evening.
