There is no substitute for technology education: Palak
State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak commented that there is no alternative to technology education in order to survive in the competitive world by facing the fourth most difficult challenge.
He made the remarks while inaugurating the 'Mobile Apps and Game Testing Lab' at Begum Rokeya University in Rangpur under the ICT Department's 'Skill Development for Mobile Games and Applications' project.
Speaking as the chief guest, Palak said that in order to build a technology dependent society, higher education institutions should be given priority in four sectors. The sectors are cyber security, robotics, artificial intelligence and microprocessor designing.
Advising to formulate educational curriculum with due importance to these four areas, the State Minister further said, "If we want to survive in a technology-based future, there is no alternative but to acquire capacity, especially in these four areas."
State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak promised that the ICT department would extend all possible cooperation to make Begum Rokeya University a world class educational institution.
Prof. Dr. Md. Hasibur Rashid, Vice-Chancellor Begum Rokeya University; Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sarifa Salwa Dina; Deans, heads of different faculties and departments; teachers, students and officials of the university were present on the occasion.
The state minister was received on campus by the university Vice-chancellor Hasibur Rashid. State Minister Palak paid homage to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing wreaths at the mural of Bangabandhu on the campus before inaugurating the 'Mobile Apps and Games Testing Lab'.
Earlier, the State Minister attended separate functions including the unveiling plaque of the foundation stone of Dr M A Wazed Miah High-Tech Park, Rangpur at Kholishakuri area and a function arranged on the occasion at Zilla Parishad Community Centre in the city.
