Supreme Court verdict will be written in Bangla thru’ ‘Amar bhasa’ software: Chief Justice
New software 'Amar Bhasa' has been added to the Supreme Court to translate English language court rulings into Bangla. And this is how Chief Justice Hasan Fayez Siddiqui has said that the verdict has started being written in Bangla in the Supreme Court through this.
He conveyed this information in response to various questions of the journalists after paying homage to the language martyrs and handing over wreaths at the central Shaheed Minar this morning (February 21). He said that a separate branch has been set up for the full implementation of the verdict.
The Chief Justice said that although most of the judgments and orders in the lower courts of the country are given in Bangla, now there is a growing tendency in Bangladesh to give judgments and orders in the High and Supreme Courts as well. Even a decade ago, the number of judgments and orders in the High Court in Bangla was insignificant.
He added that new software 'Amar Bahasa' has been added to the Supreme Court to translate the judgment in English into Bengali so that the general public and the litigants can understand the verdict. This software will translate court decisions given in English into Bengali. The use of the software will make court decisions easier for litigants and the general public. India has assisted in the development of this software.
Earlier, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Haque inaugurated the software at the Bangladesh Supreme Court on February 18 (Thursday). He then said that this technical assistance in translating the judgment given in English into Bengali by the Supreme Court of Bangladesh would play an important role in ensuring 'access to justice' for the people seeking justice in this country.
