the Japanese Ambassador Iwama Kiminori had a courtesy call with the Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud at the Secretariat on Sunday (October 1). Along with the political situations of Bangladesh, he discussed about the establishment of Bangabandhu EPZ or Japanese EPZ at Miresshorai and Matarbari Port

After the courtesy call, Hasan Mahmud said in response to a question from the journalists, the ambassador of Japan appointed in Dhaka came for a courtesy meeting with me. We also discussed cultural issues to increase the exchange between the cultural groups of the two countries. We have a long-standing relationship with Japan. Japan has always been a model of development for us. I have thanked Japan for the last 52 years for the economic development of Bangladesh's infrastructure. We have communicated that we can work more closely together in the future.

Political issues too were discussed. When the Japanese ambassador brought up the topic of the upcoming elections, I told him that there will be free, fair and transparent elections. However, it is the Election Commission's responsibility to hold and postpone elections. But the government has the role of facilitator. In that case, we have told him that we will wholeheartedly support the Election Commission.

Besides, to stabilize the politics is the work or responsibility of all political parties. Constantly boycotting elections is never convenient for anyone. That is what I told him and at the same time so that there is no political violence in the country, which happened in 2013, ‘14, ‘15. From time-to-time BNP has done and is still trying to do, inciting, these issues have been discussed.

He said, I told him in the discussion that there will be a fair, free and beautiful election with the participation of the people and the participation of many political parties.
