Bangladeshi girl received award from Bill Gates Foundation
Bangladeshi girl Fairuz Faiza Bithar has received the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation's 2021 'Goalkeepers Global Goal Changemaker' award.
The award was announced on Tuesday as stated by the Gates Foundation in a press release.
The press release says that the Changemaker Award is given in recognition of inspiring social change through the use of personal experience or leadership. The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation awards individuals who are helping to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Fairuz is the co-founder of the online platform Mind School. The purpose of establishing the school was to raise awareness about mental health and to ensure equal access to mental health care throughout the country.
In recognition of this, he has been awarded the 'Goalkeepers Global Goal Changemaker Award-2021'.
The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has announced three more winners for the Goalkeepers Global Goal Award as part of the Goalkeepers Campaign. Among them, Fumjile Malambo Nukuka, former UN Under-Secretary-General and Executive Director of UN Women are there.
"The winners of this award are an example of how women are leading the way in rebuilding our society and nation," said Mark Suezman, the foundation's chief executive.
The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation's fifth annual Goalkeepers Report was released last week. Following this, the winners of Goalkeepers Global Award were announced.
