'Pakistan is on the way to bankruptcy', commented the telecom minister Mustafa Jabbar citing, 'In the year 1971, the Pakistani rupee was worth less than the Indian rupee. And now the Pakistani rupee is worth half of the Bangladeshi taka. Pakistan is now on the verge of bankruptcy.'

On Friday (October 7), he commented on a discussion meeting titled 'What should be done by freedom fighters and children and generations to implement the spirit of liberation war' at Jahur Hossain Chowdhury Hall of Jatiya Press Club. He also commented that Ziaur Rahman, the founder of BNP, had the intention of making Bangladesh Pakistan.

Drawing the attention of the new generation, Mustafa Jabbar said, 'There are many types of people in our country. The majority of them are Muslim, followed by Sanatan religion. Then there are the Buddhist-Christians. These people respect every religion and practice their own religion. But religion does not divide humanity.'

Referring to Ziaur Rahman, the minister of the ruling party said, 'All of us together fought against the Pakistanis. But they still remain. Bangabandhu was able to handle these pro-Pakistanis, but Ziaur Rahman came and did the exact opposite. Zia's intention was to make it (Bangladesh) a Pakistani state. His aim was to take the country towards Pakistani ideology.'

He also said that within the 51 years of the creation of Bangladesh, three and a half years of Bangabandhu and eighteen and a half years of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have created a strong foundation of Bangladesh. Bangladesh's progress would have been many times greater had it not been for the defeated forces of 1971 and the sinister activities of their allies. He called upon the new generation of freedom fighters including freedom fighters and their children to come forward to succeed in the ongoing struggle to establish Digital Bangladesh to build a developed Bangladesh by 2041.

Member of Parliament Professor Nasir Uddin, member of Bangladesh Awami League Liberation War Affairs Subcommittee, valiant freedom fighter Salauddin Ahmed (Salu) attended the event, while Chairman of Bangladesh Freedom Fighters Mahajot presided over.
