The closing ceremony of an ITEE training program, organized at the University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS) with the support of the Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC), was held in the capital. The event took place on 22 April at the university’s Ratnagarbha Tahmina Rahman Multipurpose Hall, where students’ preparation for achieving internationally recognized IT certifications was presented.

The “IPA FE (ITEE) Training Program,” jointly organized by the IQAC and the CSE Department of UITS with support from BCC, was completely free for students. Following the training, 25 students from the CSE Department have registered to participate in the final examination scheduled to be held on 25 April at the ICT Tower.

The primary objective of the program was to prepare students for the “Information Technology Engineers Examination (ITEE), Level-2: FE,” conducted under Japan’s Information Technology Promotion Agency (IPA). Concerned officials stated that this certification plays a significant role in enhancing professional skills in the ICT sector and creating international employment opportunities.

The event was attended by the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Dr. Md. Abu Hasan Bhuiyan, as the chief guest. Special guests included Treasurer Professor Dr. Siraj Uddin Ahmed and JICA-trained Master ToT Trainer and Professor at East West University, Dr. Shamim H. Ripon. Also present were IQAC Director Engineer Md. Safayet Hossain and Head of the CSE Department Al-Imtiaz, along with other relevant officials.

In his speech, the Vice-Chancellor emphasized the importance of obtaining internationally recognized certifications, thanked BCC, and said that enhancing the skills of ICT professionals is essential to remain competitive in the global arena.

The training, which began on 26 February and continued until 22 April, comprised a total of 30 sessions with 60 hours of instruction. A group of expert trainers from various universities across the country participated, including faculty members from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), East West University, and BRAC University.

As part of the program, a model test was held on 19 April, and the top three students were awarded at the closing ceremony. Additionally, all participating students were provided with ID cards and gift items.

The UITS authorities stated that such initiatives will continue in the future to produce internationally competent graduates and to further strengthen the country’s ICT sector.
