UITS Students Secure Silver and Bronze at WICE 2025 National Round

Teams from the University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS) have earned notable accolades at the national selection round of the prestigious World Invention Competition and Exhibition (WICE) 2025. Team Peltiers clinched the Silver Medal, while Team Nexora brought home the Bronze. Additionally, Asif Mahmud was awarded the CR (Campus Representative) Medal for his role as the UITS Campus Ambassador.

The results were announced on the night of Wednesday, June 4. The global round of WICE 2025 is scheduled to be held from September 21 to 26 in Malaysia, where participants will showcase groundbreaking innovations in science, technology, engineering, and social development.

Out of 120 competing teams in the national round, Peltiers and Nexora distinguished themselves to earn the opportunity to represent Bangladesh at this prestigious international event. Peltiers team members include Asif Mahmud, Nusrat Jahan Anny, and Jihadul Jarif Siam, who won for their environment-friendly air conditioning innovation. Meanwhile, Nexora, comprising Bishwajit Roy, Tanvir Mahmud Shaheen, and Sawda Akhter, developed a life-saving blood donation app.

Seven teams from UITS participated in the 7th edition of WICE 2025, held on May 30 under the supervision of the university’s Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE).
