Hotline to Combat Violence Against Women Receives 103 Complaints on First Day

The Police Headquarters has introduced a hotline service to take immediate action against violence against women. On the very first day, 103 complaints were received through this service. The information was shared on Tuesday, March 11, by Inamul Haque Sagar, Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Media and Public Relations at the Police Headquarters.

He stated, "To ensure swift action against violence against women, the Police Headquarters launched the hotline service on Monday, March 10, at 4:00 PM. By Tuesday, March 11, at 8:00 AM, a total of 103 complaints had been recorded."

In cases where urgent intervention was required, officers-in-charge of the respective police stations were immediately dispatched to the scene. For complaints that did not require immediate action, legal guidance was provided accordingly.

Among the 103 complaints received, 62 were deemed irrelevant, including requests for telephone numbers, inquiries about private hospital doctors, and similar non-related matters.

The Police Headquarters has urged the public to refrain from making irrelevant calls to the hotline numbers—01320002001, 01320002002, and 01320002222—so that the service can be effectively utilized for its intended purpose.
