ICTESB Committee Formed: AI, Automation and Skills Development in Focus

A new central executive committee of the ICT Employee Society of Bangladesh (ICTESB), an organization of professionals in the country’s information technology sector, has been formed. The 27-member committee, with a three-year tenure, was constituted on 9 May, Saturday morning at an Executive Council meeting held at the organization’s temporary office in Rampura in the capital. The new committee was announced in accordance with Rule and Regulation-11 of the organization’s constitution.

Engineer Elahan Uddin has been elected President, while SM Moazzem Hossain has been elected General Secretary.

Other members of the committee are: Senior Vice-President Md. Abu Bakar Siddique; Vice-Presidents Md. Abdus Salam, Mostafizur Rahman Sohag, Tanvir Ahmed, and Md. Ashik-Al-Aziz; Joint General Secretaries Ashfakur Rahman, Md. Enamul Hasan, and Reshma Alam; Organizing Secretary SM Alauddin Kabir; Treasurer Ziaur Rahman; Publicity and Publication Secretary Gazi Asif Mohammad Islam; Office Secretary Md. Sadikur Rahman (Sajib); Deputy Office Secretary Mohammad Arifur Rahman (Arif); Education, Training and Research Secretary Bikramaditya Sana; International Affairs Secretary Ishrat Jahan; Sports and Literature Secretary Tanzir Alam; Women and Family Welfare Secretary Rasheda Akter Sumi; Cultural Affairs Secretary Deep Sarkar; Legal Affairs Secretary Md. Azizur Rahman; Religious Affairs Secretary Md. Saiful Islam (Sohel); Disaster and Relief Affairs Secretary Md. Shahadat Hossain; and Health and Social Welfare Secretary Mohammad Sedratul Amin.

Additionally, Maklub Bhuiyan, Engineer Junaid Ahmed, and Md. Moazzem Hossain have been included as executive members.

Following the formation of the new committee, President Engineer Elahan Uddin said, “Through the proper use of AI automation and advanced technologies, the talent, skills, and innovative capacity of the country’s youth must be elevated to a global standard. To build a new Bangladesh, the government must ensure modern technology training, research opportunities, job security, and a technology-friendly environment for young ICT professionals.”

General Secretary SM Moazzem Hossain said, “The government and the private sector must work together to create technology-driven employment and ensure digital security.”

The ICT Employee Society of Bangladesh was registered in 2019 under the Ministry of Commerce at the RJSC in accordance with the Societies Act. The organization currently has more than one thousand members.

The organization regularly arranges workshops, training, research, seminars, and conferences to enhance the skills of ICT professionals. It also participates in various national development-oriented technology initiatives jointly with the government.

ICTESB is conducting free workshops, training, career counseling, and skill development programs for its members. Since 2020, Microsoft Corporation has been supporting the organization as a non-profit partner by providing various technological assistance, including software, cloud servers, AI automation, and Azure credits.

On the occasion of its fourth founding anniversary in 2023, with the support of Microsoft, 40 members were provided Microsoft Office 365 Business Premium Pro software worth approximately five lakh taka through a lottery. From this organization of more than three hundred members, Microsoft Office 365 was also gifted to the Programming Language Club at Shyamoli Engineering College on 30 April.
