Sophos Strengthens Security with Strategic Advisory Service
Global cybersecurity firm Sophos has announced the launch of its new Advisory Service, designed to help organizations identify vulnerabilities and strengthen their overall cybersecurity framework.
Without revealing the names of its board members, Sophos disclosed the development on Tuesday, October 28. The company stated that the Sophos Advisory Service is led by a specialized team with backgrounds in security research, threat intelligence, law enforcement, and military operations. Many of the experts have joined Sophos following its recent acquisition of SecureWorks. The team members hold internationally recognized cybersecurity certifications and have earned top positions in several global competitions.
Sophos emphasized that regardless of an organization’s size or security maturity, assessing cyber risks remains critical. Doing so not only helps businesses stay a step ahead of attackers but also ensures legal compliance while strengthening the confidence of customers and partners.
According to the Sophos State of Ransomware 2025 report, software vulnerabilities remain the leading cause of ransomware incidents. About 65% of organizations worldwide reported being attacked due to some form of security flaw.
The newly introduced services are based on the research and real-world experience of Sophos X-Ops Threat Intelligence. The offering includes key components such as threat hunting, incident response, and analysis of recent cyberattacks. Its security suite also features external penetration testing, internal penetration testing, wireless network penetration testing, and web application security assessments—all aimed at helping organizations proactively detect and mitigate potential threats before they are exploited.
