The Department of Management at Jessore University of Science and Technology (JUST) organized a national seminar and training workshop titled “Digital Transformation and Employability: Bridging the Skills Gap for Tomorrow’s Leaders” to address digital transformation and employment challenges. The event marked the conclusion of a nearly two-month-long National Conference Carnival, held across JUST’s 27 departments and one faculty.

The day-long seminar and workshop took place on Wednesday, July 23, at the Professor Mohammad Sharif Hossain Gallery of the Kazi Nazrul Islam Academic Building. JUST Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Majid formally inaugurated the event.

In his address, the Vice Chancellor stated, “In this era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, employment opportunities will remain limited without digital skills. Seminars and workshops like this play a crucial role in preparing our youth for the future.” He further highlighted the significance of organizing the National Conference Carnival for the first time in the university’s history, emphasizing its goal of enriching students through knowledge exchange, exposure to international researchers and trainers, and enhanced communication skills. “I believe you have gained valuable knowledge from this carnival,” he added.

The keynote speaker was Professor Dr. Mohammad Tawfiq-ul-Islam from the Department of Management at the University of Dhaka. Training sessions were conducted by Saddam Hossain, Country Manager of BPO Service Bangladesh Ltd. The speakers presented an in-depth analysis of current employment demands and the skills needed for the future, sharing a variety of data-driven insights through detailed slide presentations.

Special guest Dr. Mohammad Kamal Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies at JUST, also addressed the seminar. Additional remarks were delivered by Mohammad Awal Hossain, Chairman of the Department of Management and convener of the seminar.

Faculty members and students of the Management Department were present at the event. The program was conducted by students Muna Amin and Sayeda Ifrat Jahan Tithi.
