Following the fourth phase of migration under the Undergraduate Admission Program for the 2024–25 academic session, two departments under the Science Unit at the University of Dhaka (DU) still have vacant seats. In light of this, interviews for eligible candidates will be held on June 17, as announced in a special notice concerning subject allocation.

The notice, signed by Professor Dr. Abdus Salam, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Coordinator of the Science Unit Admission Test, stated: “For the academic session 2024–25, the interview process for all eligible candidates under the fourth phase of migration in the undergraduate program of the Science Unit has been completed. However, due to the unavailability of sufficiently qualified candidates, seats remain vacant in the departments of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) and Applied Chemistry and Chemical Technology (ACT).”

According to the announcement, “Interested and eligible candidates—who had previously selected either of these departments in their preference order as per Article 19 of the admission guidelines, but have not yet appeared for an interview or submitted their original transcripts—may attend an interview on Tuesday, June 17, between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM to avail the opportunity for admission.”

It further added, “If the number of candidates attending the interview exceeds the number of available seats, nominations will be granted based on merit.”

Applicants attending the interview must bring the original admission test admit card, original academic transcripts of SSC and HSC exams, the receipt of the fee paid online as per the instructions from the Central Admission Office, and a printed copy of the detailed application form including the candidate’s subject preference list. “The bottom portion of the printed form must include the candidate’s mobile number and signature,” the notice emphasized.

It was also clarified that original academic transcripts will be retained by the Dean's Office. Therefore, candidates are instructed to make and keep at least 20 photocopies of their SSC and HSC academic transcripts before submission, as these will be required for future admission-related and other purposes.
