X Experiences Yet Another Glitch on Friday Afternoon

Elon Musk’s social media platform X (formerly Twitter) faced another bout of disruption on Friday, according to reports from users and monitoring sites like Downdetector. The issue reportedly began shortly before 4:00 PM local time, as confirmed by TechCrunch.

According to TechCrunch, while the app and website were accessible, several core features—such as the For You feed—were malfunctioning. Many users complained that images were not loading, XMoney was unresponsive, posts could not be published, and even the search function was disabled.

Although the disruption did not persist for an extended period, some users observed inconsistent performance across platforms. “Some features were working on the mobile app, but not on the desktop,” one user remarked. Additionally, the platform's Developer API v2 was reportedly unstable during the outage.

This incident comes just a week after a prolonged 24-hour disruption on May 22. Notably, the latest glitch coincided with the experimental launch of a new feature—XChat DM—raising speculation that the update may have triggered the instability.

Since Musk's acquisition of the platform, X has notably ceased responding to media inquiries regarding technical issues.
