Less than 24 hours after a plane crash in Gujarat, another aviation-related incident has alarmed authorities. An Air India flight bound for Delhi was forced to make an emergency landing at Phuket International Airport on Friday, June 13, following a bomb scare. The aircraft, an Airbus A320neo, had taken off from Phuket but returned mid-air after receiving a security alert.

The exact number of passengers on board has not yet been confirmed.

Following the safe landing, a mandatory security check was conducted. An Air India official stated, “All passengers have been deboarded along with their baggage. Security agencies are scanning both the passengers and the luggage.”

According to another Air India official, quoted in Indian media, “After takeoff, once the aircraft reached its designated cruising altitude, a security-related alert was received, prompting the pilot to turn back and return to Phuket.”

Flight tracking website FlightRadar reported that Flight AI 379 had departed Phuket at 9:30 PM local time and was scheduled to land in Delhi at 12:40 PM. However, the aircraft returned and landed at Phuket International Airport at approximately 11:45 AM local time.

The incident has raised concerns in the backdrop of recent aviation disruptions, prompting heightened security measures across Indian and international terminals.
