Labbaik App Launched for Hajj Pilgrims' Convenience

Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus has inaugurated the mobile application ‘Labbaik’ designed to ease the service for Hajj pilgrims. The app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store. After downloading, users need to verify an OTP (One-Time Password) and set a 4-digit PIN. During registration, pilgrims will need to provide their mobile number, PID (Pilgrim ID), and date of birth. A pilgrim can invite up to three family members to join the app by sending an invitation with their name and mobile number. Once registered, these family members will be able to access the pilgrim’s information. Additionally, registration is possible as a guest user (open to everyone).
The app was officially launched on Monday (April 28) at the Jamuna State Guesthouse in a government-managed event. Dr. Yunus urged Hajj pilgrims to use the app. He stated, "This app, with its features including support for religious activities and health services, will significantly contribute to a focused and hassle-free Hajj experience."
The Chief Adviser also instructed relevant ministries and departments to work towards making this app available to pilgrims starting from the planning stage of Hajj, with the goal of simplifying the pilgrimage process from next year. He emphasized learning from countries with advanced Hajj management systems and offering the app's technical support for free to countries that lack such services. He also advised improving the app to make it more user-friendly and error-free.
The app, launched to simplify Hajj rituals, will also ensure a stress-free travel experience to Saudi Arabia. During the inauguration, Dr. Yunus expressed gratitude to everyone involved in the development of the app. In addition to the app, the Chief Adviser also launched the Hajj Prepaid Card and Hajj Roaming Package services.
Among the attendees were Religious Adviser Dr. A F M Khalid Hossain, Cultural Adviser Mustafa Sarwar Faruqi, and Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb. The inauguration was also attended by Dr. M Mushfiqur Rahman, Secretary of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, and Emadul Bari, Chairman of BTRC.
Mamun Al Faruk, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, shared that Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims often face various issues during their pilgrimage. To address these problems and enhance the Hajj experience, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has introduced the 'Labbaik' app, the prepaid card, and the roaming facility. Additionally, in case of emergencies such as a lost pilgrim or serious illness, the app includes an SOS (Save Our Souls) button, through which the support team will assist the pilgrim. The app also provides prayer schedules, weather forecasts, and detailed flight information including flight codes, boarding time, departure and arrival times, luggage weight limits, and location tracking for pilgrims and their group members.
The app also provides daily Hajj schedules, accommodation information, and the ability for family members to track their Hajj pilgrims. It includes location tracking for tents in Mina-Arafat, balance information for the Hajj prepaid card, a digital health profile, virtual health support, and details of medical centers in Saudi Arabia. Furthermore, the app features group communication, a Quran and Hadith library, Qibla direction, digital Tasbih, Hajj and Umrah guides, and a list of slaughterhouse coupon collection centers. Information on historical sites in Mecca and Medina, as well as Hajj agency details (including agency name, license number, packages, ratings, and reviews) will also be available on the app.
According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Grameenphone has announced six special roaming packages, Robi has three, and Banglalink has five. Grameenphone’s packages will be activated from the day of purchase. Banglalink’s packages will be activated once the pilgrims arrive in Saudi Arabia. However, postpaid subscribers of Banglalink will not receive roaming voice call services.
