Google’s Growing Global Grip with AI Overviews

Google’s artificial intelligence-powered search feature, "AI Overviews," is now reaching more than 1.5 billion users each month and is currently available in over 100 countries worldwide, according to a report by TechCrunch.

The feature gathers information from across the web to present concise answers to users' queries. Although this has led to a decline in visitor traffic to some publishers' websites, Google views it as a potential source for increasing revenue and user engagement.

Last year, Google introduced advertisements within "AI Overviews" and has recently begun testing a new feature called "AI Mode." Meanwhile, the "Circle to Search" functionality is now active on more than 250 million devices, reflecting an approximate 40 percent increase compared to the previous quarter.

Google has also reported a rapid rise in visual searches through Google Lens, with shopping activities via the technology increasing by 10 percent. However, amidst these advancements, the company is facing growing pressure from the U.S. Department of Justice over allegations of monopolistic practices.
