Apple’s ‘Charismatic’ Code: Crafting a Cutting-Edge OS
Apple is developing an entirely new operating system under the codename “Charismatic.” According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, this could very well be the long-discussed Apple HomeOS, reports MacRumors.
The report states that Apple’s upcoming smart home hub, expected in 2026, and its tabletop robot, slated for 2027, will both run on this operating system. It is said to combine features from tvOS and watchOS. For instance, it may adopt a hexagonal app grid similar to that of the Apple Watch.
The platform is being designed around watch faces, widgets, and multi-user support. While Siri voice commands will serve as the primary mode of interaction, touch controls will also be available. Several pre-installed applications—such as Calendar, Camera, Music, Reminders, and Notes—will come with the system.
Through multi-user support, the device’s front-facing camera will recognize users’ faces and adjust layouts and content according to individual preferences. Apple is expected to release further details on the platform in the coming months.
