Google Introduces Hardware Shopping Tab in Play Store, Featuring Samsung Devices
Google, the technology giant, has introduced a new initiative to make shopping easier and more affordable for users by offering hardware products directly through the Google Play Store. A new “Shop Devices” tab has quietly appeared in the account-switching menu of the Google Play Store in several regions.
As part of this initiative, the platform has listed not only Google's own Pixel devices and Pixel Watch smartwatches but also a range of popular gadgets from South Korean technology company Samsung.
Listed Devices and Current Availability
Through this new Google Play Store service, users can purchase the newly launched Pixel 11 series and Pixel Watch, as well as Samsung's Galaxy S26 flagship lineup and Galaxy Watch 8 devices, directly through the platform.
However, the service has not yet been made equally available across all regions. While users in some areas can see only Pixel devices, Samsung gadgets have not yet been made available to everyone.
Notably, the prices of the devices listed on the Play Store are in line with their usual market prices. At least for now, Google has not announced any special offers or discounts.
The service is expected to provide an alternative channel for purchasing hardware outside the official Google Store.
Partnership with Samsung and Future Prospects
The technology industry is speculating about why Google has chosen to feature Samsung devices on the Play Store while other manufacturers remain absent. Whether this initiative reflects the close commercial relationship between the two companies or makes Samsung the first partner in a broader plan to include other manufacturers remains to be seen.
The key question now is whether other technology manufacturers will eventually join Google's platform to sell their devices.
