Uber Expands Digital Ride-Sharing Service to Chattogram

Ride-sharing app Uber has officially launched its services in Chattogram. After operating in Bangladesh for a decade, the company officially introduced the service in the country’s commercial capital from Wednesday, May 20.

As a result, passengers in Chattogram will now be able to easily book rides through the Uber app. At the same time, drivers will have opportunities for flexible earnings.

While speaking at the inauguration ceremony, State Minister for the Ministry of Land and the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs, Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin, said that Chattogram is one of the country’s most important commercial cities. He noted that a modern transportation system would play a significant role in enhancing urban development and connectivity in the city.

Redwan Rezvy, Country General Manager of Uber Bangladesh, said the company is delighted to launch services in a rapidly growing city like Chattogram. He added that Uber will work to ensure reliable services for passengers while also creating economic opportunities for drivers.

Uber said the initiative will further expand reliable, safe, and technology-driven transportation services. At the same time, it is expected to have a positive impact on the local economy.
