A day-long bdNOG Conference 2026 is underway in Dhaka with the participation of local and international experts focusing on IoT security, IPv6, AIOps, and internet infrastructure. The conference, being held on 9 May, Saturday at Le Méridien, Dhaka, features discussions on internet infrastructure, network security, IoT, data centers, IPv6, and AI-driven network management, with experts addressing queries from participating trainees.

The conference, centered on the responsibilities of network engineers in safeguarding the country’s cyber domain and network ecosystem, has drawn 250 registered professional participants and students. To disseminate this knowledge more widely, the workshop is also being broadcast online, allowing interested individuals to join the training virtually.

In the morning’s first session titled ‘Operational Network–1’, Sudipta Mondal of Smart Technologies spoke on Zero Trust Architecture for securing industrial ICS networks. Meanwhile, Tawfiq Ahmed of Pico Public Cloud discussed network configuration backup and version control using Oxidized in ISP environments. In the concluding segment of the first session, Abu Sufian of ADN Telecom presented practical insights into using DNS logs for analyzing CDN performance.

In the second session, Hasan Uz Zaman Ashiq of Pico Public Cloud Limited spoke on data center networking and observability. Mahdi Hasan, a faculty member at the University of Dhaka, discussed cybersecurity and resilience. Yoshinobu Matsuzaki of Japan’s IIJ presented on DNS query trends.

The third session features discussions on enhancing internet infrastructure resilience using Open Fiber Data Standard by Internet Society trainer Warren Finch. APNIC member Md. Abdul Awal is presenting on IPv6-based network deployment, while Rakibul Hasan, CTO of Link3 Technologies, is highlighting the potential of Large Language Models (LLMs) in network management.

The closing session is scheduled to begin at 4:30 pm with a welcome address by bdNOG General Secretary Barkatullah Alam Biplob.

A panel discussion titled “Establishing Bangladesh as a Regional IXP Hub” will be held during the closing session, alongside a keynote presentation titled “From Reactive to Autonomous Networks: AIOps for Scalable Internet Infrastructure in Bangladesh” by Md. Monirul Islam, Associate Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at AIUB.

Special guest Dr. Md. Razzaki Islam, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, will be present, while BTRC Chairman Major General Md. Emdad Ul Bari will attend as the chief guest.

Also expected to attend are ISPAB President Aminul Hakim and Secretary General Nazmul Karim Bhuiyan.

Earlier, three technology-focused workshops were held at the same venue from 6 to 8 May. These workshops provided hands-on training on IPv6 and routing best practices, IXP development, and advanced BGP with MikroTik. Trainers included APNIC member Awal Howlader, Abu Sufian, Prime Bank’s Shaila Sharmin, Amber IT’s Mahbub Hasan Pavel, Begum Rokeya University’s Belal Hossain, Summit NIX network engineer Nafiun Nabi Babir, ISOC trainer Warren Finch, University of Dhaka’s Imam Hasan Raja, and One Sky Communications’ AKM Jahangir.
