One of the country’s largest automotive events, the “19th Dhaka Auto Series of Exhibitions 2026,” has begun at the International Convention City Bashundhara in the capital. This year’s exhibition features more than 70 companies from 10 countries, with over 200 booths. With a blend of new technologies, modern designs, and future-oriented vehicles, the exhibition venue has turned into a diverse showcase.

Globally popular brands such as Toyota, Mitsubishi, Mercedes-Benz, MG, Proton, Changan, GAC Motors, and Dongfeng are displaying their latest car models. In addition, the two-wheeler segment is attracting visitors with the presence of CF Moto, Longjia, and Vimoto.

Amid the ongoing fuel crisis and rising prices, the main attraction of this event has become electric vehicles (EVs). A significant number of visitors are crowding the EV segment in search of fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly transportation. The exhibition features special arrangements showcasing battery-powered cars, electric bikes, and charging technologies, offering a glimpse into the future direction of transportation systems.

Organized by Conference and Exhibition Management Services (CEMS-Global), this three-day exhibition is being held until 25 April, running daily from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. Multiple shows are being held simultaneously, including a motor show, bike show, auto parts show, commercial vehicle show, and electric vehicle expo.

This regular annual event officially commenced on Thursday, 23 April, through a ribbon-cutting ceremony. In the absence of the Minister of Road Transport and Bridges, Railways, and Shipping, Sheikh Robiul Alam, the exhibition was inaugurated by Meherun N. Islam, President and Group Managing Director of CEMS-Global (USA & Asia Pacific).

Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Industries M. A. Kamal Billah; Director of the Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) Dr. Anupam Saha (Joint Secretary); Director General of the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Gazi A K M Fazlul Haque; and former Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism Javed Ahmed were also present at the event.

According to the organizers, this long-running auto series exhibition has been playing a significant role in technological advancement, investment prospects, and market expansion in the country’s automotive sector. Eventually, this initiative places special emphasis on environmentally friendly technology and sustainable transportation systems.

Overall, carrying a message of seeking alternative solutions in the reality of the fuel crisis, this exhibition in the capital is now bustling with visitors, offering a glimpse of a new horizon for the future of transportation.
