NBR Launches Security Operations Center to Strengthen Cyber Defense
The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has launched its own Security Operations Center (SOC) to enhance cybersecurity preparedness. The facility was inaugurated on January 4 (Sunday) at the NBR headquarters in Agargaon, Dhaka, by NBR Chairman Md Abdur Rahman Khan.
The SOC has been established as part of implementing the cybersecurity policies and standards issued by the National Cyber Security Agency. Its primary objective is to strengthen the security of the ASYCUDA infrastructure and other sensitive information assets, while reducing potential cyber risks.
NBR Public Relations Officer Md Al Amim Sheikh said the SOC has officially begun operations. A specialized NBR team is running the center using advanced technologies and in line with international standards. Through the SOC, Bangladesh Customs’ cyber environment can now be monitored round the clock to detect and prevent potential internal and external cyberattacks, risks, suspicious activities, and other threats.
