Global technology brand Honor Bangladesh has launched its latest smartphone, the Honor X9d, in the local market. The device was unveiled on January 4 (Sunday) at a resort in Gazipur by Honor Bangladesh Country Manager Lang Guo. At the event, Under-19 Bangladesh cricket team captain Saif Hasan was announced as the new brand ambassador of Honor Bangladesh.

Although the off-spinner was not physically present at the venue, a video screened at the event showed right-handed opening batsman Saif smashing the new phone like a cricket ball. The demonstration highlighted how the device achieved a Guinness World Record in the “highest smartphone drop” category. According to Guinness test results, the phone remained intact after being dropped from a height of 6.133 meters.

Another video shown before dealer partners and leading tech and lifestyle influencers demonstrated the phone’s durability by showing it remain fully functional even after a Jeep vehicle passed over it.

Honor Bangladesh Business Head Abdullah Al Mamun, Deputy Country Manager Mujahidul Islam, and other senior officials of the company were present at the launch event, alongside partners and invited guests.

Speaking on the occasion, Honor Bangladesh Country Manager Lang Guo said, “In recent years, Honor has been achieving continuous success globally and in Bangladesh. Honor Bangladesh recorded a growth of 200 percent last year. We believe launching the Honor X9d—the strongest phone in the X series—has given Honor a very strong start to the year.”

It was also announced that the Honor X9d, featuring 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage, has been priced at Tk 46,999. Pre-booking for the smartphone will be available until January 11.
