NVIDIA and Nokia have joined forces to develop a new generation of artificial intelligence (AI)-powered 6G mobile networks. As part of this partnership, NVIDIA will invest one billion dollars in Nokia, according to the NVIDIA Newsroom.

Through this collaboration, Nokia will integrate NVIDIA-powered, commercial-grade AI-RAN (Artificial Intelligence Radio Access Network) technology into its RAN products. This will enable mobile operators to deploy advanced 5G and upcoming 6G networks.

The new AI-RAN technology aims to deliver faster and more efficient connectivity for mobile users, particularly benefiting future AI-driven devices such as drones, augmented and virtual reality glasses, and robots.

T-Mobile USA, Dell Technologies, and Nokia are working alongside NVIDIA on this ambitious initiative. The first experimental launch of 6G networks is planned for 2026.

NVIDIA’s CEO Jensen Huang stated, “AI-RAN will revolutionize the telecommunications industry and bring the United States back to global leadership in this sector.”
