Beximco and NSU Bond to Boost Biomedical Breakthroughs

Beximco Pharmaceuticals Ltd. and the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at North South University (NSU) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster innovation through collaborative research and career development. The agreement was signed on Monday, May 5, 2025.

Rabbur Reza, Chief Operating Officer of Beximco Pharma, and Professor Atiqul Islam, Vice Chancellor of North South University, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective institutions.

Under the MoU, Beximco Pharmaceuticals will offer financial support and access to world-class R&D laboratory facilities to selected Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) students, enabling them to complete their theses in specialized areas. This initiative is expected to enhance the development of young researchers and promote research-based activities in the country’s pharmaceutical sector.

Commenting on the partnership, Rabbur Reza said, “This partnership with North South University will encourage collaboration between academia and industry. Such collaborations are highly effective in advancing the pharmaceutical industry through science-based research.”

NSU Vice Chancellor Professor Atiqul Islam remarked, “Constructive partnerships with industry play a vital role in achieving academic excellence. Initiatives like this will create opportunities for talented students to engage in innovative research activities.”
