Probe Panel Formed Over PSTU Student’s Death
An eight-member investigation committee has been formed by the district administration to look into the death of H.M. Ashiq, a first-year student at the Faculty of Agriculture, Patuakhali Science and Technology University (PSTU).
The committee is headed by Dr. Md. Khaledur Rahman Mia, the Civil Surgeon of Patuakhali district. Other members include Additional District Magistrate Md. Tarek Hawlader, Additional Superintendent of Police Mohammad Sazedul Islam Sajal, University Proctor Abul Bashar Khan, Medical Centre physician Dr. Nizam Uddin, and student representatives Md. Moin Uddin, Nure Al Fahad, and Meem Sadat Shahriar.
The formation of the committee was announced in an official order signed by Deputy Commissioner Abu Hasnat Mohammad Arefin on the night of Monday, April 14. The committee has been instructed to submit its investigation report within 24 hours.
Commenting on the incident, Deputy Commissioner Abu Hasnat Mohammad Arefin said, “The incident is extremely unfortunate. The committee has been formed to uncover the truth and identify those responsible through a proper investigation. Instructions have been given to submit the report as soon as possible.”
