Walton Wows at 137th Canton Fair with AIoT-Powered Innovations
The 137th edition of the world-renowned mega trade show, the China Import and Export Fair—popularly known as the Canton Fair—kicked off on April 15. Continuing its legacy of strong participation and success in previous editions, Bangladesh’s tech giant and global electronics brand Walton is once again taking part in this prestigious event.
At this year’s Canton Fair, Walton is showcasing its latest range of electrical, electronics, and home appliance products equipped with advanced smart features based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT).
According to Walton sources, the brand has set up its mega pavilion at Hall 2.1 in the International Section of the fair. The pavilion features a wide variety of smart appliances including AI and IoT-integrated refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, televisions, washing machines, microwave ovens, and blenders. Walton is also displaying its state-of-the-art low-noise refrigerator compressors, which incorporate the latest global technology. On the opening day of the fair, S M Mahbubul Alam, Managing Director of Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC, visited the pavilion and reviewed its activities.
Abdur Rouf, Vice President of Walton’s Global Business Division and Chief Coordinator of the Walton Pavilion at the Canton Fair, said, “The Canton Fair is one of the world’s largest mega trade shows. It brings together globally renowned brands under one roof, offering valuable insights into the latest technologies. Every year, hundreds of thousands of businesspeople from China and across the globe attend this event. It is a vital platform that fosters connections among importers, exporters, and manufacturers worldwide. That’s why Walton has been participating regularly in recent years. In each edition, we have developed new business partnerships, helping us expand our brand’s presence across many countries. This year, we have returned with an even more advanced range of smart technology-based products and expect to forge new partnerships to further our global reach.”
According to the Global Business Division, Walton is exhibiting a 646-liter, side-by-side refrigerator featuring multi-color design and a large display. The fridge is equipped with Matrix Speed Optimization (MSO) inverter technology based on Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT), which adjusts cooling performance based on external temperatures while minimizing energy consumption. Users can customize the cooling settings for the refrigerator and freezer compartments, significantly reducing electricity usage. The compressor uses globally recognized, eco-friendly R-600a gas. These AIoT-based models can be operated remotely from anywhere in the world via smartphones.
Walton is also showcasing inverter-based solar hybrid split-type air conditioners, 5-inch digital display ACs, and offline voice control models. Its smart ACs featuring IoT can be conveniently managed via smartphones from anywhere. The solar hybrid split ACs run on solar power during the day. When solar energy is insufficient, the system intelligently switches to grid electricity in a hybrid mode. At night, they can run on solar-charged batteries or regular electricity. These models also incorporate corrosion-resistant Cotec Industrial Solution technology.
Another highlight is the 3-in-1 convertible technology with an integrated 5-inch color TFT display, allowing users to monitor indoor and outdoor temperatures, energy consumption rates, and historical usage data. Walton’s offline voice control ACs can be operated via simple voice commands. These ACs use R-290 gas, one of the most environmentally friendly refrigerants available globally.
The Canton Fair, held in Guangzhou under the supervision of China’s Ministry of Commerce, has been running for 68 years. The first phase of the 137th edition runs from April 15 to 19 and features globally recognized technology brands exhibiting electronics and household electrical appliances, lighting equipment, vehicles and spare parts, machinery, hardware, and tools. Walton is participating in this electronics and household electrical appliances category for the fifth time, strengthening its presence in one of the world's largest trade shows.
